Job Description

The Opportunity

Do you dream of your work making a difference in the world? CAWST is an international development organization with a focus on Sustainable Development Goal 6 - water and sanitation for all - and we’re looking for an organized, driven and passionate student or recent graduate to support our Water and Sanitation (WASH) practitioners strengthen and grow their program.

In this role you will:

1. Support with the improvement and execution on internal monitoring and evaluation systems and processes that help decision-making and communications by:

  • Supporting with the design of surveys;
  • Leading the administration of survey with clients;
  • Coordinating the collection of data to support on-going monitoring and evaluation;
  • Leading data cleansing, analysis and interpretation of survey data;
  • Preparing summary reports; and
  • Supporting CAWST staff to understand monitoring data to help make data driven decisions

2. Support project evaluation work by:

  • Designing monitoring frameworks
  • Drafting data collection tools
  • Mentoring partners and clients with data collection 

3. Assist in the delivery of CAWST's online courses by:

  • Monitoring discussion forums, providing technical assistance
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting
  • Supporting with review of online courses

We don’t expect you to already know how to do all of the above, but do expect you to be a self-starter who has some knowledge of monitoring and evaluation with an ability to interpret data, is passionate about international development and has a strong desire to learn new things!

Qualifications

Education

  • Pursuing (or recently completed) an undergraduate or graduate degree, in any faculty or program

 Experience and skills

  • Passionate and committed about CAWST and our cause - what CAWST does and how we do it
  • Enthusiastic about data, possessing a love for digging into details and using data analysis and interpretation to tell the story.
  • Interested and experienced with research and analysis techniques with basic knowledge of performance measurement methodologies and evaluation practices
  • Organized and motivated young professional, enthusiastic about achieving goals and possessing superior time management and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative and seek consultation as needed
