Job Description

A motivated and technically savvy Windows System Engineerwho is adept at designing, installing, and configuring Windows servers, storage arrays, open-source platforms and performing system integration, testing, and operational support. The ideal person enjoys solving challenging problems in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment and has an interest in learning more about Linux. 

What you will do…  

  • Manage and monitor all systems and infrastructure
  • Execute daily support of all systems
  • Monitor and test system performance
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors
  • Develop strategies for system improvements
  • Create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts
  • Perform server and security audits and system backup procedure
  • Integrate servers
  • Ensure system connectivity of all servers

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working as a Windows Engineer
  • 2+ years of experience working with Linux OS
  • Versed in Hyper-V and VMWare hypervisors both stand alone and clustered environments
  • Knowledge in multiple scripting languages (PowerShell, Python etc.)
  • Experience using and configuring Salt a plus
  • Experience with a variety of OS tools and utilities for managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Windows infrastructure and networks.  
  • Knowledge of AD, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, CIFS, and multi-platform system security
  • Experience with proxying, load balancing, sticky sessions a plus
  • Zabbix or similar monitoring tools is a plus
  • IIS support background and experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience with a multitude of relevant certifications  
  • Available in a 24x7 on-call rotation
