Job Description

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining presentable offices. Job duties include, but are not limited to: dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restocking restroom supplies such as toilet tissue, hand towels and soap dispensers, cleaning spills, hanging fixtures, changing light bulbs and/or ballast, moving furniture, light sheet rocking, plastering and/or painting. May also require lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds without assistance.

  • Cleans and maintains offices, workstations, restrooms, and clinic
  • Disposes of garbage in accordance with the facility schedule
  • Completes minor repairs as noted above
  • Completes work orders and updates status in facilities request system
  • Accepts and distribute deliveries of supplies, and other program materials
  • Assists in inventory control
  • Keeps shredders/photocopiers clean and fills paper as needed
  • Completes messenger runs, as needed
  • Travels to other locations in the 5 boroughs, as directed
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, or equivalent related work experience;
  • At least 3 years of prior maintenance or handyperson experience;
  • Basic computer skills such as internet, email, online training, and familiarity with MS Office
  • Must have a valid NY State driver's license in good standing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing basic electrical work, such as replacing light bulbs, and ballasts, outlet covers, etc.
  • Experience performing basic plumbing work, such as unclogging and snaking drains and toilets, replacing pipes and fixtures, etc.

Additional Information

Salary:18 per hour
