 CASES’ seeks a Senior Data Analyst for the data reporting and analysis unit. We need a team member with extensive knowledge of Salesforce. Our ideal candidate is curious, highly skilled in relational databases and Excel formulas and able to hustle to meet recurring weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc deadlines to support the large-scale expansion of pretrial services.

 

Job Description

  • Develop expertise and advanced competence in a customized Salesforce platform and as needed familiarity and competence with government databases to enter performance data and to extract data for analysis, build and configure large data files for reporting
  • Responsible for data reporting and analysis for large-scale pretrial services program using Salesforce and converting to use the Exponent Case Management (ECM) solution on the Salesforce App Exchange
  • Develop automated data reports to analyze program performance and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly data reporting
  • Work collaboratively with pretrial services leadership and quality assurance analysts to identify missing, inaccurate, or otherwise problematic data and contribute to oversight procedures to monitor and track the timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of data
  • Extract, format and transform data from agency databases into tables, figures, and charts, and data reports according to program contract management and set protocols for invoicing, financial projection analysis, and performance management
  •  Develop and present monthly and year-to-date program performance using data visualizations and dashboard to provide year-to-date trend analysis and performance trends
  • Develop and use protocols to identify problems with data entry, datasets and routine extraction processes, rectify issues, and systematize processes for efficient workflows in collaboration with information services and program staff
  • Work independently and as part of a team and foster team-focused data solutions based on collaboration with pretrial leadership, evaluation, grants and contract and executive staff
  • Contribute to continuous quality and efficiency improvement to innovate and streamline ways to bring together data for timely, error-free invoicing back-up reports, and performance tracking, and data visualizations in seamless processes
  • Review data at participant level for contracts management to ensure the data is reported accurately to government funders
  • Provide descriptive, outcome and trend analysis data for annual pretrial services report to the NYS Office of Court Administration  
  • Conduct regular data quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy of data reports produced and of the data in the database, following quality assurance protocols for random peer-to-peer review of analysis conducted by other analysts and reports before distribution internally and to government and funding agencies 
  • Produce analysis on key program and operational outcomes and drivers that influence year-over-year program performance to enhance agency understanding of underlying program issues, trends and performance to ease the use of data to inform program decision-makers
  • Execute queries in databases to extract program datasets for analysis to respond to the needs of pretrial services senior leadership and directors and external requests from funders, government oversight agencies, policymakers and other stakeholders
  • Communicate clearly and accurately in both verbal and written mode concisely describing problems, solutions, specifications and plans related to data reports
  •  Lead projects on data reporting, analysis, management and planning initiatives
  • Participate in program planning efforts by contributing insights about program data, to support the creation of outcomes and plans to track and report on benchmarks with pretrial services leadership
  • Manage special assignments that may include analytical support needed to assist in responses for proposals, foundation reports and fundraising
  • Deputize for the Director Data Reporting & Analysis at meetings with government agencies and for quality assurance and change management projects
  •  Perform end user and application support functions including problem solving and resolution of Salesforce and Exponents application function defects. Provide staff training and support.
  • Perform duties in accordance with CASES’ mission, cultural competency, anti-discriminatory and other policies and procedures
  • Any other duties as required by the Director and senior staff

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in related field and at least 2 years of experience as a data analyst, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with at least 3-5 years of experience as a data analyst working with relational databases
  • Salesforce experience required
  • Salesforce certified professional a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, SPSS (and other statistical software), MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Advanced functions, Get and Transform), MS Access, MS Project, Visio and other products in MS Suite
  • Experience with Power BI a plus
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multitask while adhering to deadlines
  • Project management experience preferred

  •  Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and remain highly organized
  •  Commitment to social justice and knowledge of NYC criminal justice system and alternatives to incarceration program ​​​​​​​
