Reports To: Accounting Supervisor

Job Description

  •  Processing accounts payable, including data entry and printing of accounts payable checks;
  •  Acting as the petty cash custodian for the central office;
  •  Responsible for staff advances, including maintaining log book, insuring proper collection of receipts, and reconciling the staff advance account on a monthly basis;
  •  Analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts as assigned;
  •  Accepts deposits from staff, prepares receipts for same;
  •  Reviews, verifies for accuracy, and processes reimbursement requests for petty cash and MetroCards. Ensures requests are processed and distributed to custodians on a timely basis;
  •  Reconciles the Havens Fund bank account on a monthly basis;
  •  Monthly journal entries as assigned;
  •  Assists in maintaining general journal entry files and logs.
  •  Provides clerical and administrative support to the Controller and the Fiscal department
  •  Assists and supports staff in preparation of audits
  •  Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and administrative skills required
  • Detail orientated, highly organized and excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Financial Edge in a not-for-profit environment preferred
