Job Description

Overview: CASES is a New York City leader in providing services to individuals with behavioral health challenges who are involved in the criminal justice system. Our clients have complex and high needs related to their mental health, substance use, medical, and psycho-social challenges. The Nathaniel Clinic is an Article 31 outpatient mental health clinic licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health that serves individuals age 13 and older. Clinic staff include psychiatrists, registered nurses, psychologists, social workers, peer specialists, and medical schedulers. Services include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy, and health monitoring.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day clinical operation of the clinic, including intake assessment, service planning, clinical interventions, and discharge planning
  • Provide direct individual & group clinical supervision to clinic staff
  • Provide relevant trainings to staff (e.g., co-occurring disorders, motivational interviewing)
  • Model and coach staff in recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and cultural competent care
  • Ensure provision of evidence-based practices for youth and adults with behavioral health needs who have been involved in the criminal justice system
  • Promote the integration of risk-need-responsivity & risk assessment/ management practices into clinical operations
  • Lead clinical high-risk rounds and maintain high risk lists; participate in the clinic Incident Review Committee (IRC); function as on-site point person for crisis or high risk clinical situations; manage 24/7 crisis phone service
  • Serve as a member of the First Responder Cohort as outlined in CASES’ First Responder Policy and Procedures
  • Train new staff on the use of the electronic health record as it relates to standardized clinical workflows and billing
  • Work with administrative, medical leadership, quality assurance, information services, facilities, and fiscal staff to meet clinical supervision goals

Qualifications

 

  • New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Psychologist
  • CASAC and/or SIFI preferred for LCSW
  • 1+ year of clinical supervision experience
  • Fluent knowledge of Part 599 regulations for NYS OMH licensed Article 31 clinics
  • Experience working with justice-involved individuals with behavioral health needs
