Job Description

The task of this assignment is an Endline survey for The Program for Rural Outreach of Financial Innovations and Technologies (PROFIT) whose overall objective is TO UPLIFT THE ULTRA POOR by challenging the frontiers of poverty through targeting the ‘ultra – poor’. The Endline survey will demonstrate the current status of rural households living in Mwingi North area with regard to their skills, livelihood, health and food consumption indicators and index on which the project will build into in delivering the intended objectives and create a meaningful impact to the targeted populations of Mwingi North and Mwingi Central.

The enumerators will work directly with the Consultant as the supervisor, CARE M&E Officer and Field Officers of the Graduation Project as the overall oversight coordinators for the assignment supported by the Project Manager.

Responsibilities and tasks of Enumerators

They will be closely supervised and report to the consultant. Their core task will be to assist the consultant conduct successfully Endline survey.

R1. Conduct online data collection using the provided data collection tool - KOBO.

Task 1:           Attend data collection training

Task 2:          Conduct household survey on selected households within the assigned areas

Task 3:          Document all the findings in the provided data collection tools.

Task 4:          Participate in team review meetings at the beginning/end of each day’s assignment

Task 5:          Compiling and sorting the filled data collection tools as directed by the supervisor.

R2. Reporting

Task 1:          Present the data to the supervisor at the end of each day.

Task 2:          Report to the supervisor before and after day’s work for further direction.

Task 3:          Ensure submission of all the completed Endline questionnaires for the day to the supervisor.

Expected Outputs

  • Fill in duly completed questionnaires from the field on daily basis

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications Required

§     Must have KCSE certificate and at least a diploma for post-secondary education

§     Demonstrated prior experience in household surveys, baseline surveys, midterm surveys or end line  survey is an added advantage.

§     Demonstrated prior experience in electronic data collection methodologies;

§     Good report writing skills

§     Good facilitation skills

§     Good communication skills and experience in participatory methodology

§     Innovative, motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

§     Demonstrated ability to work on strict deadlines;

§     Willing to accomplish each day’s work with the supervisor by the end of each day, which may involve long working hours.

§     Must have a smart phone with the following specifications:

1.      Operating system : Android 6.0 and above

2.      Processor: 1.3GHz Quad- core

3.      With a long battery capacity

 

Additional Information

Duration of service

30 enumerators will be engage for 22 days (4 days training and 18 days data collection)

PAYMENTS

The enumerator will be paid a fixed allowance rate of KES 1500 (one thousand five hundred shillings) per day worked excluding days of training.  Lunch and transport expenses during field work will be paid in cash at shs. 1000 per person per day.

The allowance payment will be made to the enumerators’ bank account upon satisfactory completion of the task as will be assigned by the supervisor and consultant.
