Job Title: Software Engineer – Flowable
Location: Remote
Type: Contract W2 / CTH
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with deep expertise in the Flowable BPM/workflow platform to design and implement business process automation solutions. This role leverages AI-assisted development practices and modern integration patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions. Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.
- Facilitates complex problem resolution. Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues. Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software. Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Qualifications
Must Have Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Flowable (BPM engine, workflow, case management, or DMN)
- Basic proficiency with AI coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or ChatGPT) to assist in code generation and review
- Java or Spring Boot development experience
- Ability to model, deploy, and maintain business process definitions
- 5+ years of overall software development experience
Nice to have skills:
- Experience with agentic AI frameworks or autonomous AI workflows (e.g. LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI)
- Experience with REST API design and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Exposure to Kafka or event-driven architectures
- Knowledge of Elastic/Elasticsearch for querying process data
Experience:
- 5+ years of software development experience required.
