Job Description

Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Software Process & Quality
Location: Erie, PA 16531 (100% Onsite - 5 Days/Week)
Role Type: Contract

Role Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Project/Program Manager with a deep background in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and process transformation. This is not a traditional auditing or "quality specialist" role. We need a driver—someone who has experience in software engineering projects and can bridge the gap between high-level compliance (ISO/CMMI) and day-to-day engineering execution.
The successful candidate will lead the development, deployment, and optimization of software engineering processes to enable world-class product quality. You will identify process gaps, manage the roadmap for documentation updates, and coach engineering teams on industry-leading development principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Engineering & Deployment: Develop and deploy robust software processes tailored for Control and Software Engineering teams, ensuring alignment with organizational standards (CMMI/ISO).
  • Gap Analysis & Strategy: Perform rigorous risk/gap analysis of existing documentation. Identify necessary process additions or modifications to ensure superior product quality.
  • Project Management: Create and execute comprehensive project plans for process updates. Prioritize tasks based on resource availability and business impact, reporting progress through KPI dashboards.
  • Audit & Compliance: Lead process audits for ISO and CMMI standards, ensuring the organization remains compliant while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Training & Change Management: Identify training needs, develop educational materials, and lead workshops to ensure process adherence and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Coaching & Troubleshooting: Act as a mentor to software engineers, helping them troubleshoot process bottlenecks using Lean Six Sigma and modern software development principles.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in Project/Program Management specifically within Software Development environments (strictly no manufacturing-only backgrounds).
  • Methodologies: Mastery of the end-to-end SDLC and heavy experience with Lean / Six Sigma and CMMI frameworks.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to speak the language of software engineers. You must understand the nuances of coding, testing, and deployment lifecycles.
  • Quality Management: Proven track record in a Quality Management System (QMS) within a large, matrixed organization.
  • Tools: * Expertise in Project Management tools and KPI reporting.
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with PowerApps, Power BI, or Python for in-house tool development and data automation.
  • Leadership: Exceptional skills in leading, educating, and coaching cross-functional teams through organizational change.
