What You’ll Do

As a Business Development member with Burwood, you will serve as the engine that powers our efforts to expand our customer base through strategic, data-driven outreach, relationship-building, and impactful events. 

We seek ambitious, self-motivated professionals eager to forge meaningful connections with our partners, clients, and internal teams. Key responsibilities include conducting market research, shaping business strategies, managing diverse lead-generation initiatives, and uncovering new opportunities to fuel growth. 

The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized, and resourceful individual, with a passion for driving revenue, enhancing our market presence, and identifying innovative ways to position our services. Experience in sales, IT recruiting, or marketing—particularly in a consultative or technical field—is highly desirable. This role offers a clear pathway for career growth, including opportunities to advance into senior business development or Account Executive level sales roles as you excel and contribute to Burwood’s success.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:   

  • Take ownership of strategic lead generation by proactively prospecting, leveraging data and reports to identify and qualify opportunities, and building a robust sales pipeline within net new logo acquisition and active client expansion whereas needed. 

  • Work collaboratively with sales executives and solution architects to align efforts and achieve collective sales goals and targets. 

  • Ensure our CRM remains up-to-date and accurate to support seamless reporting and drive company-wide success 

  • Actively participate in on-site meetings, trainings, events, and conferences to contribute to our collective growth 

  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with Burwood's partners to drive lead generation, create additional revenue streams, and expand your business network 

 

    Qualifications

    Who You Are

    • Proven experience in successfully securing meetings and driving lead generation within large commercial organizations within Healthcare, Finance, Higher Education and/or Manufacturing, or a clear strategy and enthusiasm for achieving these goals 

    • Ability to work independently, self-directed and remotely in a cross functional organization  

    • Bring 1-3 years of experience in technology sales, IT recruiting, or a related business development field, showcasing your ability to drive results and build meaningful relationships 

    • Committed to on-site engagement with clients and partners through flexible travel arrangements 

    • Adept at engaging with diverse groups of people, effortlessly initiating conversations, and making meaningful connections 

    • Proactive, able to handle unexpected challenges, and maintain composure while finding effective solutions 

    • Must have a passion for learning and continuous growth, particularly in understanding Burwood’s go-to-market strategy, processes, and the evolving Information Technology industry. 

    Tech Stuff  

    • You have experience with Hubspot, Dynamics 365, and ZoomInfo   

    • Proficient skills (Microsoft, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)  

    • Co-Pilot or Gemini (AI) Foundational Knowledge Preferred
