Job Description
The post holder is typically tasked with handling the receipt, organization and distribution of patient necessities in a health care facility environment. On a day-to-day basis, this position may be required to report to medical staff, though it is managerial, so you may delegate some of your tasks to available personnel.
As post holder, you are responsible for the tasks such as but not limited to:
- Responsible for ensuring goods/supplies ordered by the department are received and checked against original order and examined for any physical damage before being appropriately stored for gases, medical & pharmacy stores.
- Deliver guidance to material handlers ensuring efficient workflow in the receiving and shipping areas
- Run reports and review/monitor KPIs and implement plans accordingly to ensure operation is successfully meeting KPIs set forth
- Receiving deliveries, making sure stocks are stored correctly and safely and delivering goods to wards and departments depending on what the stocks are and where they need moving, you may use trolleys etc
- Doing stock checks and making sure old stocks are used before new stock (stock rotation)
- Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems where necessary and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of supplies
- Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
- Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and manage all audit arrangements including annual stocktaking and liaison with internal/external auditors
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as medicines are stored safely
- Maintain professional demeanor throughout all interactions
- Responsible for managing all inventory control related activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in Store/Warehouse Management or related field
Experience: 05 to 07 years of experience in relevant field preferably in healthcare organization
