Job Description
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician will work under the Plant Manager to see that all facilities, grounds, production equipment, and vehicles are safely working and in good condition.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or vocational school training. Mechanical background with similar hands-on-experience necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Makes repairs on buildings and equipment
- thorough understanding of electric
- thorough understanding of plumbing
- thorough understanding of fork trucks
- repair equipment as needed
- Paint as needed
- thorough understanding of various plastering/patch materials and their application
- thorough understanding of painting materials and their application
- Maintain fork trucks and production equipment
- maintain fork trucks and production equipment through use of preventative maintenance and service checks
- service and repair fork trucks and production equipment as needed
- Maintain storage areas
- inventory availability of storage space
- keep storage areas neat and accessible
- Assist with other duties needed
- mopping/cleaning
- moving office furniture and equipment
- remove or exterminate pests (e.g. stray animals, ants) as needed
Qualifications

- Ability to read and translate Technical Manuals.

- Strong sense of urgency.
- Able to effectively communicate with all members of the team.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a High School diploma and 2+ years of experience repairing and troubleshooting in pneumatics, hydraulics, overhead cranes, forklifts, hoists, 3-phase motors, variable speed drives and controls, and heavy industrial wiring.
- High school level reading and writing, visual acuity to read blue prints, diagrams, operating instructions, labels, meters, gauges, documents and instruction.
- 3 to 5 years work experience in an industrial environment with experience repairing and troubleshooting in pneumatics, hydraulics, over-head cranes, forklifts, hoists, 3-phase motors, variable speed drives and controls, and heavy industrial wiring.
- Ability to safely operate manual and electric tools
- Knowledge of PLCs is preferred
