Job Description
This is a Full-Time position (40 hrs.).
Under the supervision of the Community Services Manager, incumbent will be responsible for routine emergency maintenance work in the Community Center, Clusters, and Grounds. Monitoring the proper operation of mechanical equipment and making repairs and adjustments as per Broadmead producers. Responsible for the safety and security of the residents, visitors, employees, and facilities.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for routine emergency maintenance work in the Community Center, Clusters and grounds
Monitors and logs operations of mechanical equipment
Checks and ensures proper exterior lighting and turns off unnecessary lights at night and turns on lights in the morning
Maintains security of the Community Center, Clusters, and Grounds
Checks locks and/or locks designated areas
Patrols the community unlocks and opens Community Center in the morning
Responds to mechanical alerts as required, reporting any necessary action to the maintenance supervisor or manager on duty
Maintains security presence during all shift changes
Notifies Head Groundskeeper of snow emergency conditions
Ensures the community is properly relieved before leaving
Maintains necessary records and prepares reports as required
Maintains accurate daily log
Prepares incident reports and maintains logs as required
Perform mobile patrols of all accessible exterior and interior areas of Broadmead’s grounds
Escorts ambulance, hearse and other emergency equipment to proper destination insuring access to such areas
Takes any necessary precautions and actions to investigate suspicious vehicles and persons on Broadmead’s property
Escorts nursing staff to clusters during emergency calls
Responds to all fire emergency calls
Performs additional duties and projects as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of security operations
Ability to interact effectively and tactfully with staff, residents, visitors and general public
Able to be on call to insure coverage of all shifts, working overtime as necessary
Requires a minimum of a high school education and a valid Class C drivers license
Required 3 years experience in Security work of an equivalent combinations of education and work experience
General knowledge of physical plant operations
General knowledge of maintenance work
