Job Description

This is a Part-time position (less than 12 hrs a week)

Under the supervision of the Holly Terrace Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for creating an enjoyable dining experience for Broadmeads’ residents and their guests.

Essential Duties:

  • Ensures the dining room experience is a pleasant and enjoyable one through cheerful behavior and by properly following established procedures for American Style of service

  • Communicates effectively with all residents and guests

  • Speaks clearly and professionally

  • Ability to serve multi-station.

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to change

  • Follows all safety and sanitation rules and regulations

  • Responsible for clearing all dishes and bussing

  • Resets tables

  • Maintains a clean and neat appearance

  • Responsible for on/call days to report to Host/Hostess

  • Performs additional duties as assigned

  • Accountable for promoting internal customer service

  • Abide by the organization’s code of conduct in the performance of their duties


  • Basic knowledge of American Style Service, sanitation and safety procedures

  • Basic knowledge of buffet service

  • Possess the ability to follow instructions, work well with other and maintain a good rapport with the residents and their guests

  • Must possess effective communication skills

  • Able to carry trays with weights up to ten (10) pounds

  • Ability to bend, handle hot plates, and work for a minimum of two hours standing

  • Refers unusual problems to the supervisor
