Job Description

This is a Full-Time (4o hrs.) position. : Monday - Friday (8:00am.-4.30pm.)

Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the incumbent is responsible for serving as tier one support for all low voltage systems including but not limited to the nurse call system, fire alarm system, resident and staff computers and printers, wander management, keys, CCTV, access controls, phones, automatic doors, cable televisions, internal communication software and smart home systems.  This position will be responsible for maintaining the back end infrastructure of all of these systems, troubleshooting and determining the resolution, either internally or with external vendors.  This position acts as the customer service connection with residents and staff regarding all of these low voltage systems.

Essential Duties: 

Acts as tier one support for all low voltage systems and provides customer service to residents or staff experiencing difficulties with each system. 

  1. Serves as in-house low voltage liaison and coordinator for all systems and the malfunction of the same within the community and with contracted services.

  2. Ensures that routine and emergency maintenance work on low voltage equipment is performed promptly and efficiently by designating staff or vendors appropriately.

  3. Assists with routine and emergency low voltage work as needed

  4. Checks service needs and trouble shoots before contacting an outside contractor.

  5. Performs preventive maintenance on the low voltage equipment as needed.

  6. Has knowledge of computer functions and systems i.e., word, excel, etc., and the ability to learn new systems.

  7. Has the willingness and  ability to come in at odd hours and/or weekends if deemed necessary

  8. Accountable for promoting internal customer service.

  9. Abide by the organization’s code of conduct in the performance of their duties.

  10. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.


  • Requires a minimum of a high school education and a valid Class C driver’s license

  • Requires five years experience in low voltage systems troubleshooting and experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Experience working in a senior housing setting or healthcare setting is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of physical plant operations

  • General knowledge of maintenance processes.

  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance processes is helpful.

  • Requires knowledge of computer functions and systems as noted in the main function of this job description and, in addition, Microsoft Office systems, i.e., word, outlook, excel.

  • Ability to interact effectively and tactfully with staff, residents, visitors, vendors, family members and the general public.
