Job Description

This is a Full-Time 40 hrs. (Exempt) position. :  Monday - Friday (8:30am - 5:00pm)

This position will assist in the monthly production of Broadmead financial statements.  This position is also responsible for management of the Fixed Asset system, recording and reconciling entrance fee amortization schedules with actuarial data, responsible for recording and reconciling daily census and actuarial data.  Please note this position is an internal/external customer-facing position that requires interaction with our residents, family members, and other responsible parties, therefore effective written and verbal communication skills are required.

  1. Assist in Broadmead journal entries and month-end close process in concert with Director of Accounting.

  2. Assist in monthly Broadmead financial statement preparation/distribution as required.

  3. Assist with payroll cash transfers.

  4. Fixed Asset module management.

  5. Support documentation needs for Master Planning and other Capital purchases.

  6. Track fixed asset purchases vs. contract and/or budget for reporting purposes.

  7. Review and post monthly depreciation journal entries.

  8. Update actuarial database throughout the month.

  9. Reconcile deferred entrance fee amortization to actuarial data.

  10. Reconcile deferred entrance fees (refundable/non-refundable) in GL with actuarial data.

  11. Assist Director of Accounting with other reporting needs on an ad-hoc basis as requested.

  12. Responsible for recording monthly investment activity and reconciling statements to GL.

  13. Responsible for prepaid amortization schedules and reconciling to GL

  14. Prepare weekly cash forecast for Director.

  15. Reconcile cash accounts to the GL.

  16. Reconcile Account Receivable account to the GL.

  17. Calculate/post commission expense.

  18. Prepare and update all financial statement schedules monthly.

  19. Maintain endowment and restricted fund schedules, reconciled monthly.

  20. Provide Primary internal backup support for AP, cash posting, check deposits and patient billing. Also primary backup for census function.

  21. Assist in monthly Broadmead Community Services financial statement preparation.

  22. Quarterly unclaimed properly submissions.

  23. Assist in journal entries and month-end close process for Broadmead Community Services in concert with Director of Accounting.

  24. Assist in Friends Care journal entries and month-end close process in concert with Director of Accounting.

  25. Reconcile Friends Care due to/from account with Broadmead.

  26. Assist in monthly Friends Care financial statement preparation

  27. Submit sales tax returns and payments for Broadmead and the Broadmead Residents Association.

  28. Drive improvement to Inventory reconciliation process.

  29. Produce monthly Dining Service reports needed to calculate meal cost.

  30. Research and reconcile accounts as needed.

  31. Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external parties.

  32. Cross-train and document various department processes.

  33. Assist in annual budget process.

  34. Assist in annual audit process.

  35. Assist in annual tax return process, including personal property taxes.

  36. Assist in annual cost report preparation process.

  37. Ensure resident census data matches between AOD and actuarial program.

  38. Accountable for promoting internal customer service.

  39. Abide by the organization’s code of conduct in the performance of their duties

  40. Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting and two to five years related experience (preferred)

  • Proficiency in MS Office plus any related windows-based programs, especially automated accounting systems. (AOD preferred)

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Ability to work efficiently with a detail-oriented focus.

  • Adaptable to fast-paced environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
