CNA/GNA (CMT a plus) - Part-Time (FC#655)

This is a Part-Time position (24 hours) : 7:00am - 3:30pm.
Week 1 : Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday
Week 2 : Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday
Must work 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday
The Certified Nurse Assistant/GNA provides service to individuals in their own homes, including assisted living facilities, who need assistance caring for themselves as a result of old age, sickness, or disability. Personal care may include assistance with the activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, companionship, transportation, and or caregiver respite.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assistance with the activities of daily living according to client plan of care.
Must obtain vital signs and demonstrating competency to Director of Home Care.
Assistance with instrumental activities of daily living in according to client plan of care.
Medication reminders to client care capable of handling their own medication.
Provide companionship including social interactions, conversations, emotional reassurance and encouragement of activities that stimulate the mind;
Perform/assist with essential shopping errands;
Assist clients/patients with following written, special diet plan;
High School diploma or GED required.
Complete a CAN/GNA training program that meets the requirements established by the State of Maryland Board of Nursing.
Be certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) from the State of Maryland Board of Nursing.
Have current CPR certification/Frist Aid.
Home care experience preferred.
Ability to accurately take and record vital signs using none electronic devices as needed. and report abnormal finding the care team.
Experience working as part of health care team under the direction of a nurse preferred.
Experience with basic wound dressing changes preferred.
Phlebotomy skills a plus.
Understanding of basic computer skills and the ability to use technology in scheduling and electronic charting.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driver record. Must be able to drive all vehicle in the Broadmead fleet including cars, vans and SUVS; any vehicle under a class “C” license.
Basic computer skills required.
Perform all housecleaning tasks.
Operate washing machine, dryer, iron and hang/hold and put away clothing.
Meal preparation, shop, cooks, serve and clean up.
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and assure resident’s rights and privacy is protected at all times.
Must positively interact with residents, co-workers and visitors and display a professional and friendly demeanor.
Must maintain a professional, neat and clean appearance and follow uniform policy.
Must be able to work in all types of weather extremes.
Must have the ability to accurately plan work routine and complete assigned duties.
Must be able to work in an environment that includes pets and pet care.
Attend Friends Circle orientation, as required.
Attend Friends Circle In-Service Training, as required.
Attend Monthly Staff meeting, Caring Caregivers.
Flex Staff (PRN) must provide availably Calendar monthly per policy.

Flex stuff (PRN) must provide availability calendar monthly per policy
Drive either personal vehicle or Broadmead vehicle to the client home.
May need to see more than one client per day and drive to various locations.

Drive/Escort clients to medical facilities, errands, shopping and outings as specified in the care plan;
Ensure client’s safety and security in the home or on outings;
Provide respite care for caregivers in accordance with care plans;
Follow the written care plan;
Report changes in the patient’s physical and/or cognitive status, and/or changes in the patient’s environment to the nursing supervisor/Delegate nurse
Complete flow sheets and time sheets during each service visit, and submit flow sheets and time sheets to the office in accordance with Friends Circle policies and procedures and
Participate in team meetings by providing input and making suggestions.
