Job Description

This is a Part-Time position (approximately12 hrs a week.  Primary need is 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.)

Under the supervision of the Café Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for creating an enjoyable dining experience for our residents and their guests, staff, and visitors by providing the highest degree of Customer Service possible.

Essential Duties:

  1. Ensures the dining experience is enjoyable through cheerful behavior and careful following of

    Established procedures for merchandising, plate presentation, service, food preparation, and sanitation.

  2. Maintains required records and receipts and ensure proper handling of all cash, coupon, and charge receipts by carefully following established procedures.

  3. Ensures that the operation of the Cafe meets all State and County health regulations and codes regarding sanitation and food handling.

  4. Follows all safety and sanitation rules and regulations.

  5. Responsible for merchandising food items, cleaning of equipment and sanitation of all Cafe areas.

  6. Responsible for proper plate presentation, food preparation as required and decoration of the Cafe under the supervision of the Cafe Supervisor.

  7. Responsible for following weekly and monthly activities calendars.

  8. Each server shall be totally responsible for his/her shift’s cash drawer after receiving same from MOD.

  9. Responsible for the serving of all customers in a timely and efficient manner.

  10. Responsible for working the Grill and flat top when needed.

  11. Responsible for filling in as Café cook when asked to do so.

  12. Responsible for properly taking and recording of all temperatures of food.

  13. Performs additional duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.

  14. Accountable for promoting internal customer service.

Qualifications

  • Ability to hear, see and speak adequately (with or without accommodations) to perform the essential functions of the job

  • Ability to perform repetitive movement actions including walking, standing and sitting for long periods of time to adequately perform the essential functions of the job

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work in inside environmental conditions
