This is a Full-time position.
40 hrs. a week Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and every other week-end
Under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor and Manager, incumbent will be responsible for collecting laundry, sorting, washing, drying, ironing and folding all items used throughout Broadmead.
Responsible for the washing, drying, folding and return of all linens according to Broadmead procedures.
Records amount of linen washed daily and follows directions and schedules.
Responsible for packaging clean linen for various departments.
Processes and rejects linens according to procedures established by Broadmead.
Informs Supervisor of needed supplies and repairs required to Laundry equipment.
Cleans laundry equipment on a daily basis.
Operates all laundry equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Follows all safety and sanitation regulations and practices.
Ensures that linens meet the standards for quality and cleanliness for all areas of service.
Wears protective personal equipment (PPE) when working with soiled linens.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
General knowledge of housekeeping procedures and proper operation of laundry equipment.
General knowledge of laundry supplies and materials
Basic knowledge of the safe operation and proper use of laundry machinery, tools, supplies and equipment.
One year experience in an institutional laundry operation.
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and assure resident’s rights are being maintained.
Must have the ability to interact professionally with residents , staff and visitors.
Must have the ability to meet the physical demands of the position, i.e., standing, bending, stooping, kneeling and stretching, pushing, lifting, twisting and lifting a minimum of 30 pounds.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Must have the ability to keep records, follow instructions and schedules and come to work during severe incidents and weather related incidents and remain on cite until instructed.
Must be able to work with little or no supervision.

Actively participates in required meetings, arriving on time unless prior arrangements have been made.
