Job Description

This is a Full-time position.

Shift : 40 hrs a week, Monday through Friday : 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all Home Management Associates, Heavy Duty Workers and Laundry Aides operate within the guidelines established by Broadmead’s Mission Statement and Values.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in the interviewing and hiring process of all Housekeeping staff by providing feedback.

  • Assists in evaluating the performance of all Housekeeping staff by providing feedback.

  • Acts as coach and mentor to Housekeeping staff.

  • Assists in the development of staff through coaching, providing support, teaching, accountability and two way communication.

  • Ensures that all areas including garden homes, common areas and skilled care areas are provided the same quality service by conducting monthly quality control checks and daily walk throughs.

  • Assists with scheduling of work to help ensure productive days for the staff.

  • Oversees the daily routines of the Housekeeping staff, filling in gaps as a worker where needed.

  • Acts as representative to new residents upon move into their home.

  • Interacts with resident and staff as the first level of resolution between resident and staff.

  • Will work in place of a staff member in their absence as needed.

  • Maintains all equipment in good working order.  Is responsible for reporting equipment problems to Manager.

  • Accountable for communicating employee and resident issues to Manager.

  • Works weekend schedule based on assigned shifts every other weekend and will work on skilled care units or community center during weekend coverage and complete duties as assigned to those areas.

  • Adheres to all regulations as they pertain to skilled care units and independent living procedures and regulations.

  • Accountable for attending in-service training, web training (Relias) and any other training as designated by the department and for keeping mandatory training up to date.

  • Accountable for reporting to work during emergency situations and staying on site as may be requested by Manager.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

     

Qualifications

 

  • High School diploma or GED required.  Some courses relative to the Hospitality Industry, Housekeeping or business management are a plus.

  • Maryland Driver’s license required.

  • Exceptional knowledge of housekeeping duties in all areas of Housekeeping.

  • Basic knowledge of the safe operation and proper use of housekeeping machinery, tools, chemicals, supplies and equipment.

  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Requires two years of housekeeping experience preferably in a leader role or above.

  • Must have the ability to lift 20 pounds repeatedly during the shift and to move light furniture.

  • Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, twist, stoop, kneel and stretch throughout the shift.

  • Must have the ability to stand on a tall ladder to complete housekeeping tasks.

  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and assure resident’s rights and privacy is protected at all times.

  • Must positively interact with residents, co-workers and visitors and display a professional and friendly demeanor.

  • Must maintain a professional, neat and clean appearance.

  • Must be able to work in all types of weather extremes.

  • Must have the ability to accurately plan work routine and complete assigned duties.

  • Must be able to work in an environment that includes pets.
