Job Description

Brightspeed is looking for a Buried Service Wire Coordinator to join our team! The Buried Service Wire (BSW) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and supporting the execution of BSW work performed by both internal resources and external vendors. This role ensures work is accurately scheduled, properly documented, and completed in alignment with Brightspeed standards. The BSW Coordinator serves as a key liaison between vendors, field technicians, project managers, dispatch, engineering, and customer support teams to ensure timely service delivery and resolution of service-impacting issues.

As a Buried Service Wire Coordinator, Your Responsibilities will include:

BSW Work Coordination & Scheduling

  • Coordinating and managing Buried Service Wire activities, including scheduling locates, permits, and drops
  • Monitoring and administering schedules to maximize appointment availability and support efficient use of field and vendor resources
  • Updating systems with scheduling changes, new due dates, and execution timelines
  • Closing out completed BSW requests ensuring all requirements are met

Vendor & Workload Management

  • Assigning, monitoring, and managing BSW vendor workloads
  • Reviewing and validating vendor job status updates for accuracy and completeness
  • Communicating regularly with vendors to confirm readiness, crew availability, and execution progress
  • Investigating delays, missed commitments, and service-impacting issues and escalating as needed

Backlog & Exception Management

  • Supporting management of aged or backlogged BSW work, including frozen ground holds
  • Tracking ticket aging, backlogging volume, and completion trends
  • Assisting PMs and leadership with prioritization and cleanup efforts

Dispatch, Field & Customer Support

  • Serving as a point of contact for BSW-related escalations and inquiries
  • Supporting dispatch and field teams with administrative coordination and field readiness verification
  • Taking calls and emails from technicians and supervisors related to scheduling and work coordination

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintaining trackers, spreadsheets, and reporting dashboards
  • Ensuring required documentation is complete, including comments, photos, permits, and locate information
  • Supporting leadership with reporting and execution updates

Timely and accurate completion of BSW tickets

  • Reduction of backlog and ticket aging
  • Accurate scheduling and documentation
  • Improved vendor performance and accountability
  • Effective support of internal partners and field operations

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume workloads
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Experience coordinating telecommunications, construction, or utility-related work
  • Experience working with external vendors or contractors
  • Familiarity with telecom systems (BOSS, scheduling tools, GIS, dispatch platforms)
  • Knowledge of BSW processes, routing, construction requirements, and locates
