Job Description

We are currently looking for an IT Financial Data Analyst to join our growing team! In this role, you will report directly to the. You will support the Manager, Financial Systems in compiling, synthesizing, analyzing and reporting information related to Brightspeed's financial systems which includes SAP ERP (S/4 HANA), BRIM, RAR, cloud-based data platforms (Google Big Query and SAC), data engineering and consolidation tools, and reporting tools (Looker, Power BI, etc.). You will research requirements and liaise across the company to ensure that financial systems are modified to meet the most recent business reporting standards, as well as the needs of key business leadership and finance stakeholders. You will also establish best practices for financial data use and ensure these practices are used throughout the organization.

As an IT Financial Data Analyst, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze financial statements, revenue streams, and cost structures to identify key trends and insights
  • Perform financial analysis as required by management or regulatory bodies
  • Translate complex financial data into clear and concise narratives for executive management
  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations to various stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and investors
  • Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks
  • Provide expertise, support, and financial training for the company departments requiring this service
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and accessible
  • Stay informed about relevant financial regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Regularly evaluate and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field
  • Financial background and with a working experience in SAP
  • 3+ years of experience in finance, revenue accounting and reporting
  • 3+ years of SQL/Python experience
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analytics
  • Strong business, accounting, and finance acumen
  • Strong understanding of IFRS 15 Revenue recognition requirements, SSP Allocation, ASC 606 Revenue reporting requirements
  • Detail-oriented and has a high sense of urgency
  • Exceptional organizational and project managing skills
  • Able to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
  • Great listener, inquisitive, willing to learn and take calculated risks
  • Self-directed and proactive who can multitask, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Telecommunications Experience
  • 2+ years in Google BQ, Look/ML, Looker
