Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal IT Architect, Enterprise, with expertise in Telecommunications systems to join our Technology Transformation team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's application and systems architecture and ensuring that all information systems, processes, data and cloud-based infrastructure implement the latest technology and security patterns. You will work closely with the development teams, cloud operations teams, data privacy teams and the office of the CISO to develop architecture strategies and solutions to protect the company's assets and meet regulatory requirements.

As the Principal IT Architect, Enterprise, you will be responsible for the following:
- Design, develop, and maintain the company’s platform architecture defining platform ecosystems, technology patterns, cloud hosting patterns, and data privacy and security standards
- Collaborate with development teams and cloud operations teams to ensure architectural standards and capability overlap reviews are incorporated into the design, deployment, and maintenance of both traditional & cloud-based systems and applications
- Coordinate with both the office of the CISO and data privacy teams to implement policies, standards and procedures to ensure architectural, security, and data privacy compliance with industry regulations and best practices
- Respond to and assist with architectural changes, emerging technology questions, security risk and vulnerability assessments and develop architectural strategies
- Keep up to date with current architecture, security threads, data privacy regulation, trends and best practices to ensure the organization’s architecture and data privacy posture is optimized
- Establish application and ecosystem onboarding processes that feed cloud engineering development
- Communicate architectural patterns, guidelines, and data privacy practices to relevant stakeholders
- Mentor and train application development teams on architectural and data privacy standards and practices
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- Additional professional experience or industry certification could be considered in lieu of degree
- 10+ years of experience in IT architecture, with a focus on Telecommunications systems and processes
- Strong understanding of telecommunications network technologies such as DSL, POTS, Metro-Ethernet, Time Division Multiplex, Dense Wavelengths Division Multiplexing, Element Management Systems, BSS and OSS platform integrations, data privacy laws (GDPR and CMMC) and technology impacts with experience in cloud security frameworks, such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Knowledge of security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption, and experience with cloud security technologies, such as VPCs and security groups
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
BONUS POINTS FOR:
- Experience with DevOps tools, such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Docker, and experience with cloud platforms, such as GCP or Azure
