Job Description

We are looking for a driven, creative, and energetic Wholesale Sales Engineer to join our team. As Wholesale Sales Engineer, you will report directly to the Director, Wholesale Sales Engineering. You will have a proven track record for getting things done and maintaining a high level of ownership and accountability. In this role, you will be responsible for working with Sales to design, sell and support solutions to customers utilizing the entire suite of Brightspeed services.

As Wholesale Sales Engineer, you will have the following duties:

  • Work with Sales to design, sell, and support solutions to customers utilizing the entire suite of Brightspeed services. Work with customers with a consultative approach to understand their business challenges, develop, and communicate solutions to address those challenges.
  • Support Sales and Account teams with pre-sale proposal generation for all Brightspeed solutions. Including, but not limited to, pricing assistance, equipment design, network, and technical documentation
  • Develop and articulates value statements based on understanding of voice, data, Internet, and network solutions and designs to internal and external customers
  • Assist in preparing, completing, and presenting all technical designs and paperwork to the Engineering and Service Delivery teams for post-sale hand off during the Project Management and Implementation
  • Work with sales to represent Brightspeed on customer appointments as a subject matter technology expert specializing in network and technology services.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with internal organizations including Service delivery, Service assurance, IT, Product Management, Network Operations, Local Network Planning and Access Management, Finance, and others



Communicating - Conveying information and ideas to others in a convincing and engaging manner through a variety of methods, both internal and external

Problem Solving and Decision Making – Identifying issues, problems, and opportunities; obtains and compares information from various sources to draw conclusions, develops and evaluates alternatives and solutions, solves problems, & chooses a course of action.

Client & Partner Relationships - Developing and sustaining relationships based on an understanding of client, partner and stakeholder needs and actions


  • 10+ years' experience sales engineering
  • Knowledge of technology and telecommunications service, including understanding of networks and network design
  • Understanding of voice, data, and Internet, and network/managed services and underlying technology that delivers those services
  • Knowledge of sales strategies, processes, systems, and approaches
  • Presentation and negotiation skills
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Ability to speak with others and convey information effectively
