As the Vice President of Engineering and Construction, you will execute the tactical network plan and implement network capital investments supporting the Consumer, Business, Enterprise and Wholesale markets across 20 states. This exciting opportunity will support technology deployment to 6.7M+ premises.

The Vice President of Engineering and Construction Responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day activities that enable the detailed engineering, construction, inspection and service readiness of all network deployments within the company by established deadlines and in compliance with network planning guidelines.
  • ~$2B multi-year network fiber upgrade program
  • Lead multiple teams of engineers, network implementation managers, project administrators and technicians, along with the management of all supporting third party infrastructure services business partners
  • Ensure the company’s capital investment and networks are aligned and capable of timely delivering and supporting the company’s strategic fiber products and services.
  • Deploy operationally efficient and reliable day-to-day operations that are standard and consistent with the organization’s network strategy and long-term product roadmaps to service, support and maximize revenue opportunity of the 6.7M+ geographic footprint.
  • Lead and manage the optimal methods for achieving desired results of the service readiness of the network investment, providing direction and influence to direct reports and cross functional partners, ensuring network investments are in service and accounted for in a timely and quality manner.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility, due diligence and oversight for detailed engineering, constructions, inspection and service readiness of all network deployments and capital investment.
  • Engineer and construct the network assets to support annual expense, revenue and margin commitments.
  • Manage national network capital and operational budgets.
  • Manage daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements to include, but not limited to, Key Service Metrics, Monthly Operational Reviews, PSC Compliance Reporting.

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE

  • 8+ years of experience leading and executing large-scale, multiple, simultaneous business transformation, and process changes.
  • 8+ years of experience in copper and fiber telecommunications technologies and architectures, network construction, engineering, and operations including, but not limited to, OSP, Central Office configurations, GPON/XGSPON technology, optical technologies, routing, transport, switching, and digital subscriber line.
  • Prior experience in managing large-scale fiber network deployments and network upgrades.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction, Construction Management, Business, or related field; or equivalent in training and experience.
  • Experience in process improvements within the telecommunication industry, that increased productivity, lowered costs, improved network quality, and reliability.
  • Demonstrable success in strategic, operational, and administrative decisions in response to strategic, market, and customer demands.
  • Experience in occupational and third-party contracting, with a proven ability in forming working win/win partnerships in network deployment, service, and support.
  • Valid driver’s license
