Job Description
This is a remote position, we are hiring anywhere in the US.
In order to realize our mission, we need your help to design and build software and systems that fulfill the needs of Brightback’s customers in this emerging category. You will participate in building a complete IT asset inventory and management process to facilitate the rapid on-boarding of new employees in an efficient and secure manner. Additionally you will work closely with other engineers to build and scale a multi-account AWS organization leveraging containerization and serverless technologies. Your role will encompass all aspects of the engineering lifecycle, including security, compliance, CI/CD, and deploying robust infrastructure to support Brightback's production workloads.

Core Responsibilities:
Implementation of a remote-first, greenfield IT support and helpdesk program:
Remote device management
Business and engineering user support
Establish baseline guardrails and controls conformant with SOC 2 type 2 standards
Inventory and order management for company laptops
User directory management and provisioning
G Suite
AWS
Contribute to migrating to a centralized IdP for supported services
Support internal DevOps processes and help maintain a collaborative environment between business, engineering and IT/security
Create developer tooling and improve developer experience
Leverage GitHub as a control plane for security and compliance efforts, “shift left” as much as possible.
Terraform module development for AWS services (bonus CDK experience)
Maintain and improve internal vulnerability management efforts
Preventative workflows
Identification and remediation
Reduce attack surface (scratch/distroless images)
Help scale and grow a multi-account AWS organization for Brightback’s SaaS platform, including:
Management/development of multi-region deployments
Migration from ECS Fargate to EKS (Kubernetes)
General support for containerized workloads (image build pipelines, Dockerfiles, etc..)
Develop auditing and compliance controls (including guardrails)
AWS Config, GuardDuty, SecurityHub, SCPs, tracker ticket automation, etc..
Manage costs and best practices for AWS environments
Implement robust monitoring and alerting tools for both application and infrastructure performance and availability
Proactive alerting
Reduce alert fatigue
AWS RDS/Aurora scaling, sharding, and management
Data science automation
Disaster recovery efforts
Multi-region architecture
Documentation and architecture diagramming
Occasionally interface with customers for technical support and security inquiries
Assist with regulatory and elective compliance controls and audits (GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2 type 2, etc..)
Assist with CI/CD pipeline support and development
Drive the continued adoption of managed cloud services and serverless workloads
Support on-demand x509 certificate issuance with LetsEncrypt
Anticipate and plan for future growth and identify areas of opportunity for improvement or refactoring
Qualifications:
Experience working with Amazon systems.

Comfortable working remotely, self-sufficient.
Pluses: Event driven systems, map reduce, OLAP, Postgres, experience in enterprise SaaS development, ETL pipelines, Terraform, IT asset management.
