Job Description

We are seeking a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including modifying WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, etc.). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems and SEO best practices. Experience with the responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred. There will also be a client facing aspect to this position, so it will be important for this person to be comfortable interacting with clients. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Program and deploy web-based user interfaces for internal software and client websites
  • Use basic programming and web design skills to optimize websites for SEO purposes
  • Keep abreast of changes with SEO strategies, tactics and search algorithm shifts.
  • Identify and repair SEO issues on client websites
  • Work with web designers and strategists to improve the layout, navigation, and display of a web site to enhance its search engine ranking

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  • Experience with PHP, JAVA, .NET, or related technologies
  • Experience developing websites with SEO best practices.
  • Understanding of at least one or more Content Management Systems (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.)
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to quickly learn, share and apply knowledge in a fast-paced environment
