Job Description
This master's thesis delves into the suitability study of the Data Distribution Service (DDS) for facilitating seamless networking and data exchange in MedTech space mainly the application involves neuro navigation and intraoperative neuromonitoring systems in the realm of neuro/spine surgery.
Research Objectives:
- Compatibility Assessment: Conduct a thorough evaluation of DDS compatibility with an NI LabVIEW-based client application.
- Performance Evaluation: Analyze the performance of DDS in facilitating high-speed and high-sample-rate signal data transfer.
- Network Discovery: Investigate DDS's discovery mechanisms in a multicast-less network environment.
- Security: Evaluate design of zero-trust connectivity architectures that align with regulatory guidance and best practices for secure data communication.
- Interoperability and Challenges: Identify and address interoperability issues and other associated challenges.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Engineering, with a focus on disciplines such as Computer science, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Hands-on experience with LabVIEW
- Excellent English and proficient German written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate with all stakeholders
- Experience/knowledge in networking, IoT, data distribution, and medical technology is a plus
- Independent, structured and pragmatic working style
