We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our IT Client Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, maintaining, and further developing Linux-based desktop environments. Your primary focus will be on optimizing the performance, security, and usability of Linux desktop systems for end-users across our R&D departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy Linux-based desktop solutions to meet internal and external requirements
• Implement and manage Linux desktop configurations, ensuring consistency and standardization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Linux desktop systems with other IT infrastructure components
• Develop and implement security measures to safeguard Linux desktop environments
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Linux desktop management
• Create and maintain documentation for Linux desktop configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience as an IT Systems Engineer with a focus on Linux management
• Expertise in configuring and managing Linux desktop environments, such as GNOME, KDE, or others. WSL knowledge is a plus
• Solid scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and configuration management
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Certification in Linux-related technologies is a desirable
• Knowledge in operating systems as macOS or Windows is considered a plus
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Business fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
