Job Description

As a Senior IT Systems Engineer at Brainlab’s Core IT Infrastructure team, you are responsible for the global storage and backup/recovery components.

You have the opportunity to shape the future storage architecture and roadmap – even challenge the current vendor NetApp.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Proactive maintenance and administration of our global NetApp storage systems and our global Cohesity environment
  • Development of a strategy and roadmap for our current storage vendor NetApp
  • Rethinking our backup levels based on requirements in the medical device industry
  • Secondary responsibility for our Linux server operating systems
  • Maintenance of the landscape documentation
  • Coordination of external consulting partners
  • Supervision of IT trainees going through the Core IT Infrastructure team

Qualifications

  • A degree in computer science or an equivalent technical education
  • Enthusiasm for new technology with a passion for computers and machines
  • Good experience with backup environments in an enterprise scale
  • Experience with with cloud technologies, like AWS S3
  • Experience in Linux server administration
  • Experience in network topologys
  • IT Security awareness
  • Advanced English
  • Ability to work independently
