Job Description

For our growing R&D Robotics division we are looking for a new Mechanical Engineer. You will be part of an energetic team developing parts and tools for robotic surgical procedures. Your contribution has an impact on daily work in hospitals around the world.

Your tasks include:

  • Working independently or in small teams developing medical devices and tools for use with Brainlab's robotic systems
  • Communication with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Take own area of responsibility within the projects
  • Maintenance activities for documentation of existing medical products

Furthermore you will develop prototypes and medical parts for robotic surgery from idea to market launch including:

  • Design of mechanical devices with 3D CAD software
  • Systematic development of concepts and evaluation thereof
  • Simulation and structure optimization
  • Perform or coordinate functional tests of medical devices
  • Create complete technical documentation acc. to international and company standards

Qualifications

  • Education in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent working experience
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems (preferred with CREO)
  • Comprehensive experience (minimum 3 years) in the design of mechanical devices with medium or high complexity
  • First experience with technical documentation for medical devices
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • German is a strong plus
  • Well organized and clearly structured working style
  • High documentation quality standards
  • Good communication skills
