Job Description

As a Software Engineer for our Robotics team, you will be involved in the development process from the first idea until the final product launch. In this position, you will be responsible for developing next level image-guided robotic surgery SW-applications. As part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Software-, Hardware and Clinical Application Engineers, you will use your programming skills in C++  to create software for medical robots for several different clinical applications. By working closely with other teams and utilizing our existing software framework, you will create an application which will be used by hospitals around the world.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Be

  • Implement controls and functions for an image guided surgery software for a medical robotic system based on surgical treatment plans
  • Human-machine interface implementation and design in cooperation with clinical & usability experts
  • Close cooperation and communication with software engineering specialists from other R&D teams
  • Define & implement safety architecture and test strategies
  • Help maintain a high code quality
  • Release subsystems and modules according to medical standards for European and US markets

Qualifications

  • You have an education in Computer Science, Medical Informatics or related discipline
  • You have fun with object oriented programming and C++ is a programming language you command very well
  • Preferably you are also confident with HTML5
  • Ideally you already have experience working in the medical field
  • Ideally (but not necessarily) you have experience in the area of medical imaging and DICOM, 3-D visualization, network communication and robotics
  • You want to be part of a high-skilled team and make a difference with your code every day
  • Fluent English, eagerness to learn German and ability to communicate with colleagues from all around the world and different areas of specialty complete your profile
