Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Product Management and Marketing, the DBS Consultant will support the marketing and launch of Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery solutions in close collaboration with the regional sales organization providing outstanding clinical and technical support and aiming for state-of-the-art clinical workflow implementation.

The position can be home office based from a European city, close to a major airport hub. Ideally within the territory of responsibility: France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Great Britain.

As the regional Functional Neurosurgery subject matter expert (SME), you will

  • act as a Brainlab Functional Neurosurgery Portfolio expert, developing deep scientific knowledge in the field of deep brain stimulation, epilepsy and related clinical workflows
  • lead sales demonstrations of Brainlab Functional Neurosurgery software and platform portfolio
  • provide on-site consulting, guidance and assistance to physicians and OR personnel by evaluating options and problem-solving before and during surgery, in order to maximize Brainlab Portfolio usage 
  • educate/train physicians and hospital personnel, including OR staff, Radiology, Biomedical and Information Technologies staff, on the use of Brainlab products and services related to Functional Neurosurgery
  • team up with the support team in the development and drive of training programs for hospital staff, enabling them to implement in-house training on the assigned products
  • develop and conduct training programs for the sales team on assigned products
  • keep abreast of developments regarding Brainlab and competitive Image Guided Surgery (IGS) products and services in the Functional Neurosurgery area, via ongoing training and individual research and analysis
  • provide ongoing feedback to Functional Neurosurgery Product Management on clinical and quality improvements for Brainlab solutions

Being responsible for Brainlab Functional Neurosurgery solutions, and DBS specifically, adoption in your geographical area of competence, you will

  • work closely with Brainlab Area Account Managers (AAMs) on account targeting strategy to maximize direct revenue and penetration of Functional Neurosurgery software and platform solutions
  • collaborate with partner companies representatives on account strategy in relation to the DBS portfolio offering and on introduction of the state-of-the-art workflow
  • support the launch of DBS Image Guided Programming (IGP)
  • act as primary Functional Neurosurgery customer liaison, maintaining contact with customer, assessing satisfaction and product usage levels, and working to increase value via the sale of the state of the art portfolio 

In partnership with the Regional Marketing Manager Functional Neurosurgery, you will

  • identify and conceive clinical research initiatives as well as drive them once approved
  • actively contribute to the execution of the regional marketing plan, implementing region specific initiatives
  • contribute to Functional Neurosurgery market transparency maintenance
  • attend meetings and trade shows to demonstrate and promote Functional Neurosurgery products and services.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Bioengineering or Clinical Engineering; Neuroscience background being a plus
  • Required minimum 2-year proven experience in a technical sales role for a healthcare company
  • Around 75% of European wide travel
