Job Description

Our passionate Video and Edge Platform (VIED) team develops the next Brainlab innovative hardware product family to foster image-guided surgery and the Digital OR. With the edge computing approach, we want to offer our customer faster, reliable and efficient solutions. We love solving complex technical challenges including both HW and SW aspects and are eager to bring our new products fast on the market. Your work includes the complete development cycle of a product from the conception and requirements definition over to the development and release of a medical device.

We are looking for somebody sharing our passion and willing to tackle those challenges with us. If you are hands-on, curious and want to actively support the project team to deliver products, we would love to hear from you.

Your task includes:

  • Define product requirements and moderate discussion between product management, technical experts and different divisions involved
  • Support the architecture and technical solution definition
  • Work with technical experts, other departments and external suppliers to find the simplest and straight forward solution
  • Support the technical implementation along the whole development cycle and when needed conduct the necessary tests
  • Drive together with the Project Manager the validation process of the product as a medical device (Documentation, market search, verification steps, etc.)
  • Take a leading role in the project team to respect project timeline and cost constraint
  • Continuously improve system engineering tools and methods taking the best out of agile and waterfall approach   

Qualifications

Required:

  • University degree in computer science, physics, engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in requirements engineering and/or as a System Engineer
  • Experience with releasing medical devices under MDR and FDA and with technical documentation for medical devices
  • High documentation and working quality standards
  • Strong motivation to adapt and enhance structures and processes
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomous
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required
  • fluent written and spoken English, German is a plus

Desirable (one or more)

  • Familiar with project management tools and agile development concepts
  • Digital image processing knowledge
  • Experience in acting with suppliers as well as with manufacturing
