Our passionate Platforms team develops the Brainlab hardware for our future image-guided surgery and Digital O.R portfolio. These state-of-the-art medical systems offer our customers easy access to the Brainlab software capabilities of today and tomorrow.

As a software engineer within our team, you will design innovative 4k augmented reality real-time video processing solution software on custom, highly specialized video hardware and will be part of a highly motivated team of technical experts.

Your tasks will span the entire process of hardware specific software development and include:

• specification, implementation, testing and debugging of software components
• realization of real-time software solutions mainly using C/C++ on Linux and RTOS platforms
• contribution to technical documentation
• close collaboration with software, hardware, and quality engineers
• communication with external industry partners on a technical level

• Required
  • university degree in computer science, physics, engineering or a related discipline
  • knowledge of C/C++
  • experience with embedded Linux or real-time RTOS/bare metal
  • experience in project work and pleasure of being part of a team
  • ability to work proactively and self-organized
  • fluency in English (German is a plus) 
• Desirable (one or more)
  • interest in working with build systems like Yocto (Bash Scripting/Systemd/Python)
  • interest in Linux kernel driver development (DMA, DRM/KMS, PTP, …)
  • digital image processing (classical and AI)
  • experience in application development (gstreamer, OpenCV, C/C++)
  • experience with ARM Cortex-R in bare metal or RTOS (FSBL, multiple hw drivers)
  • familiar with Xilinx MPSoCs
  • knowledge in basics Web development (HTML, Javascript, REST)
