Brace Yourself Games is an independent game studio based in downtown Vancouver, B.C., known for creating Cadence of Hyrule, Crypt of the NecroDancer, Industries of Titan, and Phantom Brigade.

Job Description

Duties will include:

  • Be the lead engineer on a product, actively developing the codebase
  • Work with other department leads to facilitate information flow
  • Identify risks and provide relevant solutions to complex technical problems
  • Estimate time to accomplish programming tasks
  • Triage and assign technical tasks to other programmers on the project
  • Perform other related duties

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional programming experience, with multiple shipped products
  • 2+ years of experience with Unity
  • Detail oriented, responsive, and extremely reliable
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Willing to relocate to Vancouver, Canada. (We will sponsor a visa for the right candidate.)
  • Available to start within 3 months
  • Professional experience with the ECS paradigm is a plus
  • Professional experience with Unreal Engine is a plus

Additional Information

This is a local, permanent, full-time position with Brace Yourself Games, located in downtown Vancouver, Canada. Rate of pay is above industry standard and includes a profit sharing plan and an outstanding benefits package.
