POSITION DUTIES

 

USHER

The Usher greets and interacts with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; assists guests with locating assigned seating and within the venue; provides administrative support to higher level management staff; and performs related tasks within area of assignment.

 

PROGRAM SELLER

The Program Seller greets and interacts with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; sells racing programs to our guests; maintains, secures and balances all cash and cash equivalents; provides administrative support to higher level management staff; and performs related tasks within area of assignment.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

 

Delivers superior internal and external guest service the Pinnacle Way by ensuring every interaction includes our Six Core Service Standards (Look sharp, smile and greet the guest; Be friendly, polite and use courteous language; Provide especially timely and knowledgeable service and then some; Always find solutions to guests’ problems; Use the guest’s name when appropriate; Thank the guest and invite him or her back.); and work harmoniously with fellow team members.

 

Assists guest in locating ticket areas; maintains and follows up on event ticket passes and assigned areas; keeps aisles and walk ways clear.

 

Processes and sells racing programs; assists guest with questions; and may provide assistance with navigating property.

 

Assumes responsibility for greeting and interacting with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; sells racing programs to our guests; and maintains, secures and balances all cash and cash equivalents.

 

Handles and secures all money banks to ensure the proper balancing and transaction verification through the ticket system; prepares and verifies all closing paperwork; corrects financial deficiencies as needed.

 

Notifies higher level management of any suspicious or unusual activity and/or transactions in a timely manner; maintains the confidentiality of box purchases to ensure guest privacy.

 

Ensures that all tips received are being placed in the tip box provided

 

Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the fields of customer service and sales.

 

Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

 

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

High School Diploma or GED, with at least six (6) months of sales, cash handling and/or racing experience.

 

 

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

 

Possession of, and ability to maintain a valid gaming license within assigned state of employment.

Must successfully pass background check

Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening

Must be eighteen (18) years of age

Must be willing to work weekends, Friday and Saturday nights,  and holidays if needed

 

 

 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

 

Knowledge of:

Operations, services and activities of a sales, customer service and cash handling operations; methods and techniques of sales, cash handling and customer service; knowledge of thoroughbred racing; office procedures, methods and equipment including computer and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and databases; pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

 

Ability to:

Collect, disburse and count various forms of monies; utilize cashiering systems; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; prepare clear and concise reports; interpret and explain policies and procedures; interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, laws and regulations.
