Job Description
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for assisting the Banquet Manager in all activities related to the hotel/banquet operation. Assist in the staffing and personnel matters of banquet personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
- Assist the Banquet Manager in the overall planning and set up of the various banquet activities.
- Assist Banquet Manager with billing reconciliation, staffing issues, and reviewing inventory.
- Assist in the hiring of Banquet personnel.
- Assist in the training, evaluations, and disciplinary activities of new/current department personnel.
- Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Banquet Manager.
- Maintain appropriate employee-related expenses while operating in the absence of the Banquet Manager in a supervisory capacity.
Qualifications
- One (1) year of supervisory experience in banquets/catering or gourmet service required.
- Must be knowledgeable of all types of service, e.g. banquet style, gourmet, buffet, volume, etc.
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.
- Must be knowledgeable about health department standards.
- Must have excellent customer relations, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, push and pull, lift frequently up to 35 lbs.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
