Job Description
Our client in Worthington, MN is looking for a Cost Accountant to join their growing organization!
The Cost Accountant compiles production or sales cost reports on unit or total basis for the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Maintains cost system in Navision, creating bills of material for models and options, updating bills by exchanging new items being purchased for old items made obsolete, and preparing margin information to be used by the General Manager and Controller for pricing decisions.
• Track commodity costs to monitor the need to initiate or increase material surcharges.
• Local Navision system maintenance (running system update programs, working with corporate office to implement updates or problem resolution, training others).
• Production floor audits of bills of material for models and options to verify and update Navision bills for as-built items and quantities.
• Maintenance of standard construction specifications for each Brand.
• Maintaining or assisting in the maintenance of assigning bills of material to models and options used in Navision Home Configuration.
• Approving all job orders prior to production.
• Assists with the overseeing of physical inventory (checking accuracy, tracking and pulling cards)
• Provide support and occasional assistance to engineering.
• Preparing updated margin analysis for models and options used during price adjustments and updating the Navision price files with the approved new prices.

• Must be able to exercise independent judgement or adopt or modify methods and standards to meet assigned duties/objectives
• Must have strong interpersonal skills
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and follow through with requests for assistance
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Qualifications
• Cost Accountant experience
• Manufacturing experience desired
• Associate’s degree required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
