Job Description

Our client in Troy is looking for their ideal Construction Estimator to join their growing organization!

This construction professional will have experience estimating projects, developing budgets, and sourcing materials and subcontractors necessary to complete all scopes of work.

In addition to technical competency, this position may be assigned other duties as necessary to assist the business development and project management teams.

Experience in project management is a plus and could lead to other opportunities within the organization.

Essential Experience and Duties:

•3+ years of experience in the construction industry

•Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Finance is preferred, but other relevant backgrounds will be considered

•Produce construction estimates including detailed documentation of line item construction costs, value-engineering assessments, and cost reduction strategies.

•Ability to handle multiple quotes quickly and accurately

•Experience in wood frame construction preferred, but not required

•Conceptual estimating is a must

•Ability to communicate effectively with owners, colleagues, subcontractors, and design teams

•Track all project costs in the construction phase to produce accurate project forecasts

•Prepare thorough hind-sighting analysis when all projects complete

•Substantial plus if candidate has the ability to assume responsibility for management and success of a project (including coordinating suppliers, subtrades, working with manufacturing facilities and customers)

The position may require up to 20% travel
