Job Description

Under the supervision of the President, the E-commerce Operations Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all online operations and projects for the 1861 online store in accordance with the strategic planning, the organizational goals and the operational needs.

  • Operations management

    • Ensure the daily smooth functioning of online operations in every department: stock, client service, returns and orders;

    • Manage, supervise and optimize operations according to organizational changes, business priorities, operational issues and opportunities;

    • Act as the contact person for the online store when issues arise as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues with the proper corrective measures;

    • Collaborate with retail stores, photo styling and writing department, content creators, marketing department  and administrative departments in order to answer questions and concerns in a timely manner as well as efficiently coordinate operations with these departments.

  • Human resource management

    • Lead, manage and coach team leaders and employees of the online store;

    • Manage and evaluate performance for team leaders and employees of the client service and returns department; 

    • Manage schedules, time-off request as well as approve timesheets;

    • Ensure the proper functioning of the online store by maintaining an efficient, positive and motivating work environment;

    • Collaborate with employees and team leaders to ensure open communication and a smooth workflow for online operations;

    • Collaborate continuously with the Head of People and Culture to identify recruitment, organizational development and training needs. 

  • Project management

    • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement for the online store (internal processes, KPIs, work tools, etc.)

    • Monitor KPIs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis according to target goals and organizational planning in order to meet requirements.

    • Manage and contribute to company initiatives and projects, such as the implementation and optimization of technology. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of university degree in operations, commerce or any other related field;

  • Three to five years of relevant experience; 

  • Experience in a retail company (an asset); 

  • Knowledge of Shopify (an asset);

  • Advanced computer literacy;

  • Bilingualism, oral and written;

  • Strategic vision;

  • Analytical skills;

  • Sense of priorities;

  • Strong leadership and communication skills;
