Job Description

Boston Engineering is growing in many markets and is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Coordinator to manage and build our procurement and property management capability.

To be successful in this role, you will coordinate, execute, and oversee all material and equipment procurement and post-procurement tracking activities across our wide range of projects, technologies, and customers. We will rely on you to ensure that our clients and the government's requirements are met promptly and professionally by ensuring that purchasing, supplier management, and government property tracking are complete and correct every time. With demonstrated initial successes, you will be able to grow our capability in this area by adding support staff as appropriate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand, manage, update existing, and develop new procedures for purchasing and Government Property Tracking
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Government Property audits as the primary interface with Government audits
  • Manage, create, and process purchase orders, subcontracts, and amendments through the required approval process(es)
  • Provide support to all departments and teams concerning procurement and property management
  • Procure project materials, supplies, services, and equipment
  • Acquire and analyze quotations
  • Manage supply chain documentation, pricing, and terms; vetting and recommending suppliers per company needs and standards; take a proactive approach to resolve issues, increase efficiency, and reduce costs
  • Track orders and manage anticipated arrival dates
  • Manage the inspection of procured items with support from the engineering team and project managers
  • Manage and perform the shipping/receiving of materials
  • Prepare and update reports, record related documents, and respond to inquiries
  • Train personnel on purchasing and tracking procedures via annual training and new hire training as required
  • Recommend, drive, and implement improvements for procurement and government property tracking

Qualifications

  • Previous working experience in procurement and/or government property management
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Applicable knowledge of negotiating prices and terms and conditions
  • In-depth knowledge of supplier management, data analysis, and purchasing best practices
  • Hands-on experience with purchasing software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem solver with a strong analytical mindset
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Strong demonstrated foundation in inventory and general accounting principles
  • Exceptional systems acumen (Inventory systems and comprehension, general accounting)
  • Attention to policy and procedures
  • Exhibited record of meeting deadlines, goals, and project-related expectations
  • Attention to detail, including accurate data entry and record-keeping
  • Excellent customer service and interfacing skills
