Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineering Technician to join our technical team to support our projects in the Medical, Commercial/Industrial, and Defense and Security market segments

    Requisite Skills:

    • Proficient in oscilloscope operation, function generators, lab power supplies, multi-meters, and other testing and prototyping equipment
    • Basic understanding of electrical circuit theory – resistors, capacitors, inductors
    • Ability to read and understand cable drawings, panel wiring drawings, and electrical schematics
    • Able to build, work with, and maintain relationships with outside shops to outsource electrical builds, including box builds, cabling and wiring, PCB reworks
    • Demonstrated experience with integration and debugging
    • Understanding of grounding and shielding at PCB and panel wiring level
    • Able to redline and document the as-built product.
    • Implementation of and teaching of good lab ESD procedures
    • Understanding of QA practices and upkeep and management of laboratory benches and equipment, including calibration schedules, lists of needed wiring, tools, equipment, etc.
    • Able to follow test protocols, including thorough documentation, with minimal supervision
    • Understanding of parallel and serial communication interfaces such as RS-232, RS-485
    • Electrical breadboarding experience, building/wiring prototypes including mixed-signal ICs, high-speed digital signals, serial interfaces, etc.
    • Able to mentor junior engineers and interns and work in a team environment

    Supplemental Skills: 

    • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485
    • Understanding of P&ID and mechanical schematics
    • Adept at using power tools, shop tools
    • Ability to convert sketches or prototype-level electrical drawings to manufacturing-level drawings
    • Passing knowledge of LabVIEW or other test or prototyping software

    Qualifications

    • Associate Engineering Technology degree in Electrical Engineering or Degree Level equivalent
    • Five years or more experience in a like role
    • Fluent in MSOffice (MSWord, MSExcel), fluency in MSVisio is a plus
    • Knowledge of 2D CAD such as AutoCAD or clone
    • Good communication skills
