Your responsibilities as a receptionist

• Handle all incoming and outgoing calls, screening and directing them.
• Welcome visitors in a courteous and professional manner, enquire about the purpose of their visit, and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
• Receive and distribute mail and other correspondence.
• Coordinate the dispatch and receipt of courier documents and packages.
• Maintain visitor logbook.
• Update and maintain the company’s telephone extension lists.
• Encourage working methods that promote health and safety.

Your qualities and experience

You can make your mark as a Receptionist if you have:

• Previous experience in a receptionist or front-desk role.
• Practical experience using a telephone switchboard system.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
