Job Description

Make your mark as an enthusiastic and well-organized colleague in the Innovation team! 
As WaveJump Innovation Challenge coordinator you will focus on the preparation, organisation, and practical execution of the WaveJump Innovation Challenge — one of Boskalis’ key initiatives to encourage and accelerate innovative thinking within our organisation.

You will be the driving force behind the smooth running of the program, managing events, supporting participants, and ensuring that every stage of the challenge is delivered professionally and effectively.

Your responsibilities as coordinator

  • Program Coordination 
  • Plan and organise the full calendar of WaveJump Innovation Challenge activities 
  • Coordinate key events such as the kick-off, pitch afternoon, training courses, and acceleration workshops. 
  • Liaise with other departments to align related events and opportunities. 
  • Event & Workshop Management 
  • Arrange venues, schedules, logistics, and catering for all challenge-related events. 
  • Prepare and oversee the delivery of presentation materials, workshop resources, and participant packs. 
  • Support facilitators and trainers during sessions. 
  • Participant Support & Communication 
  • Be the first point of contact for participants. 
  • Keep stakeholders informed with timelines, updates, and documentation. 
  • Draft communications such as announcements, updates, and event invitations to promote the program and engage colleagues. 
  • Idea Screening 
  • Support the process of idea submission. 
  • Conduct pre-screening of submitted ideas based on defined criteria.
  • Budget tracking & General Administration 
  • Track program spending. 
  • Maintain records of the program’s activities. 
  • Monitor progress against milestones and assist with reporting. 

Your qualities and experience  
You can move ahead as a coordinator if you have:  

  • Organisation & Project Management: Ability to coordinate multiple activities, set priorities, and manage timelines efficiently. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with colleagues across departments and working confidently with different levels of the organisation. 
  • Event Planning: Experience in arranging logistics, workshops, and events. 
  • Communication Skills: Professional written and verbal communication, comfortable presenting to groups. 
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to think proactively and contribute ideas to improve processes and engagement. 
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring materials, logistics, and communications are accurate and complete. 
  • Team Player: Positive, proactive, and adaptable in a dynamic environment. 
  • Digital Skills: Competent with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), SharePoint, and Teams; familiarity with collaboration tools is a plus.

Extra information  

  • Your team: You will be a member of the innovation team. 
  • Where you will work: For office-based roles, in consultation with your manager and your team, you work partly at home and partly in the office. 
  • Full/part-time job: The position is a one year assignment and is a full-time (40 hours a week) job.
