Job Description
Make your mark as a Heavy Lift Supervisor at Boskalis!
As a Heavy Lift Supervisor (HLS) you will be working abroad on our Bokalift 1 and/or Bokalift 2 vessel or one of the support vessels were you will be responsible for the coordinating the Heavy lift operations and the rigging operations associated with this.
As HLS you will be also part of the operations team of the Boskalis Business Unit Offshore Heavy Lift. This Business unit is responsible for the operations of the Heavy lift Vessels Bokalift 1 and Bokalift 2, which operate in sectors as Offshore Wind; Platform Decommissioning and Oil and Gas installation. We work with state-of-the-art equipment like our Bokalift 1 and Bokalift 2 supported by our large fleet of other vessels (diving, construction, transport vessels) in which we are able to run multi discipline projects for clients in the offshore market.
To ensure optimal and safe execution of the (un) loading and installation of the company’s products and services for wind farm- oil and gas installation projects and decommissioning projects your key tasks/responsibilities are:
- Ensuring safe working. Being responsible for the management of the safe, efficient and profitable execution of the heavy lift operations;
- Leading the rigging team performing the heavy lift operation and guiding the crane driver during the lift;
- Operating the crane operations as efficient as possible;
- Coordination of the Permit to work, applicable for the heavy lift operation, including the participation in Job Hazard Analysis and Toolboxs;
- Read, understand and comment on pre-job prepared method statements and discuss these with the Project Engineers in the office;
- Timely communicating information to Shift Superintendent and Offshore Construction Manager;
- Overseeing maintenance, and administration of rigging equipment onboard, together with the store keeper;
- Being involved in mobilizations and further preparations of operations upfront of the actual offshore operation.
Your qualities and experience:
- Professional Education level, including offshore standard competency certificates for lifting and rigging;
- A proactive team player with a positive mind set of getting the job done in time;
- Proven track record in the Offshore Heavy Lift Industry with at least several years of experience in offshore construction operations, being in the lead of a heavy lift operation;
- Experience in (offshore wind) installation- and decommissioning projects being a safety leader with knowledge on subsea operations; heavy lift operations and management of a multinational rigger team;
- Experience with monohull crane vessels and performing operations with large capacity offshore cranes (>1000t capacity);
- Good English communication skills;
- Leadership and commitment to ensure a healthy and safe place of work and to prevent a negative impact on the environment.

Extra information
Your team: You work in multidisciplinary teams with roughly 50 colleagues from all over the world. You are part of the Project execution Team onboard of the vessel and within the business unit Boskalis Heavy Lift. You will report to the Shift Superintendent.
Where you will work: You will mainly be working abroad on our Bokalift 1 or Bokalift 2 or one of the supporting vessels. When the vessel is not in operation you will be working, depending on build up leave balance, in our head office in Papendrecht or working remotely from home.
Full/part-time job: This is a fulltime position, for this role you need to be willing to spend prolonged periods abroad.
