We are seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to join us as Vice President of Engineering and Innovation. In this critical role, you will be at the helm of our innovation strategy, with a strong emphasis on cross-domain software, advanced vehicle systems and the combination of classic “embedded” functions with advanced solutions for outstanding performance in sport and luxury automotive segments. Key Responsibilities
Innovation & Strategy Leadership
- Lead the execution of our innovation strategy, translating the product roadmap into a robust R&D pipeline and delivering projects from concept to market success.
- Provide strategic technical input and feasibility assessments during the portfolio and product strategy definition phase.
- Develop and expand a global R&D network to enable fast and effective product development.
- Strategically position Bosch Engineering GmbH for complex cross-domain and vehicle-level projects.
- Foster a vibrant innovation culture, championing lean processes and agile structures throughout the organization.
- Identify, evaluate, and prudently discern between high-potential trends and "overhyped" topics to ensure focused investment.
Customer & Market Focus
- Ensure a strong product-market fit by deeply understanding and anticipating the needs of customers and drivers in the sport and luxury OEM segment.
- Maintain a comprehensive overview of the evolution of E/E architectures and global trends in vehicle-level features and systems.
- Secure substantial technology and know how in technologies with long legacy (e.g. powertrain and active safety) and convince our traditional customers with deep technical excellence.
- Champion a customer-centric approach, focusing on rapid validation of customer value through Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work in close collaboration with global Product Management (PRM), Sales, and project teams to align innovation efforts with business goals.
- Develop and leverage a strong network within the broader Bosch organization (BBM, GBs) and with external technology partners.
- Act as a key representative for Bosch Engineering GmbH on technology and innovation topics in high-level customer meetings and industry forums.
- Execute very strong stakeholder management to represent and advocate for key innovation initiatives across various corporate levels.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in a senior engineering or R&D role within the automotive industry.
- Deep understanding of the sport and luxury vehicle segments and their unique customer demands.
- Extensive expertise in cross-domain software development, vehicle systems integration, modern E/E architectures and motion solutions.
- A strong track record as a business development advocate, with experience fostering a culture of innovation and lean processes.
- Exceptional ability to combine a strategic, exploratory mindset with the operational needs of a high-performing organization.
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across a global, matrixed organization.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable representing the company at executive levels.
