Job Description
You shape the technological future of the automotive industry and define the architecture for the next generation of high-performance compute platforms. As a System Architect, you shape the vision for complex automotive SoCs and innovative chiplet systems that enable autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems. Are you ready to push the boundaries of what is possible with your expertise and play a key role in shaping the mobility of tomorrow?
- You define the technical vision and system architecture for high-performance automotive compute platforms used in ADAS, autonomous driving, and zonal vehicle systems.
- You drive the development of system architectures that include both monolithic SoCs and innovative chiplet-based approaches to ensure modularity and scalability.
- As a central technical point of contact, you align requirements, architectural boundaries, and integration strategies with external partners, customers, and suppliers. You convincingly present architecture concepts to stakeholders, and promote continuous architectural development by monitoring industry trends.
- You translate complex stakeholder requirements into precise architecture specifications and derive concrete engineering work packages from them.
- You evaluate and define technical trade-offs in terms of performance, energy efficiency, cost, and functional safety to find optimal solutions.
- You ensure that all architecture designs meet the high demands for automotive quality, safety, real-time capability, and cybersecurity.
Qualifications
- Education: completed university degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a comparable technical field
- Experience and Knowledge: in-depth knowledge of high-performance automotive SoC designs, including multi-core compute clusters, GPU/accelerator subsystems, memory architectures, and power/performance management; familiarity with real-time constraints, mixed-criticality execution, and the integration of ASIL-rated subsystems; understanding of modern automotive E/E architectures for ADAS, automated driving, and high-speed in-vehicle networking (Ethernet TSN, PCIe, SERDES); experience with application processor architectures (ARM Cortex-A, RISC-V, x86 embedded) and deeply embedded microcontroller units (ARM Cortex-R/M, RISC-V); solid experience with Linux as a development environment, including scripting, tooling, and cross-compilation; hands-on embedded software development (C/C++, drivers, bootloaders, BSPs); ideally familiarity with hardware accelerator architectures for AI inference and deep neural networks; understanding of chiplet-based architectures, die-to-die communication standards (e.g., UCIe), and advanced packaging
- Qualifications: additional qualifications in systems engineering, SoC design, or safety engineering are an advantage
- Personality and Working Practice: you proactively embrace challenges and technological change in a dynamic environment; you work proactively, independently, and in a self-organized manner, taking responsibility for your architectural decisions; you enjoy collaborative work and are committed to team success, while maintaining a strong desire for continuous learning and knowledge sharing; your ability to think beyond conventional boundaries enables innovative and effective solutions for complex architectural topics; you demonstrate a hands-on mentality, dive deep into technical details, and directly support engineers when needed; you are highly motivated to improve and adapt processes to increase efficiency and strengthen project outcomes
- Enthusiasm: you are enthusiastic about the latest industry trends, compute roadmaps, and semiconductor technologies, actively incorporating innovation into the architecture
- Languages: business-fluent German and English, both written and spoken
