Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cloud Engineer to join our growing team in Berlin, Germany. In this role, you will design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure solutions that support our organization's digital transformation initiatives. You will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies to ensure optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency across our cloud environments.
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and management
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment and testing processes
- Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient orchestration and resource utilization
- Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and implement logging and alerting solutions to maintain system health and availability
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize cloud resource utilization
- Implement cloud security best practices and ensure compliance with data residency and GDPR requirements relevant to our Berlin operations
- Conduct cost analysis and optimization reviews to identify opportunities for reducing cloud expenditures
- Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and runbooks to maintain organized and accessible knowledge repositories
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide timely incident response and resolution
Qualifications
**Required Skills and Experience:**
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Strong experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Solid understanding of CI/CD tools and practices (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar)
- Competency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Knowledge of networking, security fundamentals, and cloud security best practices
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, ELK Stack, CloudWatch, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in organized, efficient manner
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
**Preferred Skills and Experience:**
- Experience with multi-cloud environments and cloud migration projects
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and practices
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and serverless computing
- Experience with cloud cost optimization and resource management
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies
- Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management
- Knowledge of database management and optimization in cloud environments
