Job Description

Are you an Engineer with a passion for sound and audio and experience in analog circuit design or acoustics? Do you want to take ownership in what you design and take the lead in technology and product development projects? If your next challenge includes this and more, then join our team in Burnsville, MN where you will support the design and development of microphones and headset products!

As an Electroacoustic Engineer, you will utilize your technical expertise, creativity, communication skills, and internal drive to lead the development effort for microphones and headsets within the Electro-Voice, Telex and RTS brand with the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct technology development in the areas of electroacoustics and related computing and simulation work for microphones and headsets.
  • Monitor competitors and adjacent markets in the areas of electroacoustics.
  • Perform benchmarking evaluation and present findings to peers and management.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions for microphones and headsets.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers on co-development efforts.
  • Assist in establishing and improving acoustic simulation and measurement system.
  • Conduct product development for microphones and headsets .
  • Generate system and component performance requirements and validation test plans.
  • Develop optimized product solutions from conception to mass production through failure modes analysis, prototyping and design iterations.
  • Work with project teams to develop technical project plan and manage work efforts to ensure all requirements are met and the schedule and cost targets are achieved.
  • Design for production optimization and work with manufacturing to improve quality and costs and support sample builds.
  • Support product full life cycle, work with quality and service departments to solve ongoing quality issues should they arise. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Acoustic Engineering.
  • Minimum of two years of industry experience in electroacoustics and audio design.
  • Strong knowledge of audio engineering including electroacoustic transducers and empirical data acquisition methods.
  • Strong knowledge of analog circuit design and electrical measurements by utilizing the tools such as circuit simulation, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, power meters, and signal generators.
  • Have the ability to travel domestically and internationally a few times a year to our other global locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some working knowledge of acoustic simulation, digital circuits, microprocessor, and programming languages (such as MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or similar).
  • Some knowledge of product development best practices such as DOE, DFMEA, Lean PD, etc.
